Scientists are warning us that we have 12 to correct the course of global warming. If we fail, the consequences will be dire. We might just be able to make it. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure that we won’t.
Stephen Hawking was certainly never aware, but the day I saw him, in Cambridge, I understood something: that in your mind you can roam all the way to the edge of the universe, travel right down to the first few milliseconds of the big bang and come back to make a difference in the here and now.
